Climate Action Groups are for people who want to share thoughts, ideas, feelings and concerns on climate change.
They bring together individuals with common interests and help them turn ambition into practical action.
What sort of action are we talking about?
Previous groups have taken personal action to reduce their carbon footprints, organised public events, written articles, lobbied local government and even performed creative street theatre. But don’t feel restricted by what others have done - it is what you want to do that matters.
It is likely that whatever you decide to do, it will include one or more of the following categories:
- Action to reduce personal and group impacts
(e.g. lifestyle, consumer choices, energy efficiency, renewables)
- Influencing friends, family, colleagues and local community
(e.g. organising events, writing articles for local media)
- Active citizenship (e.g. local/national campaigning and lobbying)
